Graduate Summer Research Mentorship Awards for our students!

Congratulations to our students who just got awarded the Graduate Summer Research Mentorship Award for this coming summer. All nine students who applied this year received the award this year! Expansion of eligibility for Graduate Summer Research Mentorships

As of this year, international students will be eligible to apply for the Graduate Division’s summer research stipends. This is a very welcome expansion of the kinds of summer support available to graduate students in our department! Applications are due Feb. 18. Graf awarded the Beth Prize! In August, Thomas Graf (Ph.D. 2012, now at Stony Brook) was awarded the Beth Prize for best dissertation in Logic, Language and Linguistics for 2013, which includes a cash prize and publication offer. Margit Bowler awarded an NSF Graduate Fellowship!

First year graduate student, Margit Bowler, has received a NSF Graduate Research Fellowship to fund linguistic fieldwork in central Australia. She will begin by conducting  research on Warlpiri, and am interested particularly in lexical categories in the language.
