Please note that all courses taken for the Linguistics MA degree MUST be taken for 4 (or 5) units, and for a letter grade.

The required courses do not all have to be taken in the first year, but as a rule of thumb, try to take at least seven required courses in your first year, and if you intend to take Field Methods in your second year, try to take eight required courses in your first year.  The syntax and phonology sequences should ideally be taken in the first year.
