Troubleshooting the SIL IPA 93 Fonts

The SIL IPA 93 fonts (see my main Phonetic Fonts page for information) are old, and for Windows XP and later the installation software for them puts them in the wrong place on your computer.  You may have to move them into your Fonts folder by hand.

To find the relevant folders, do Start, Search, Files and Folders, and look for IPA93db.ttf--that will tell you the folder where the fonts were wrongly placed.  Then Start, Search, Files and Folders, and look for times.ttf--that will tell you where to move the fonts to.  If you get more than one, look for a Fonts folder that is inside a Windows folder.

Then move the fonts over, using whatever way you like to move files on your computer.

The 12 fonts that need to be moved are:

ipa93db.ttf
ipa93dc.ttf
ipa93di.ttf
ipa93dr.ttf
ipa93mb.ttf
ipa93mc.ttf
ipa93mi.ttf
ipa93mr.ttf
ipa93sb.ttf
ipa93sc.ttf
ipa93si.ttf
ipa93sr.ttf
