Help page for the department’s faculty personnel process

The UCLA process for raises and promotions is merit-based and complicated. This page offers links and help concerning how to do faculty personnel reviews, for the use of evaluees, within-department evaluators, and department staff.

Dossiers:

General:

• The “criteria of merit” – these are the little blurbs that say how good a professor is supposed to be to be promoted to a certain level. From the UCLA Academic Personnel Manual.

• The “CALL” – the grand, university-wide document on academic personnel actions. It’s actually pretty well written and explains a lot.
