Prof. Hilda Koopman is a winner of a 2017 Transdisciplinary Seed Grant, along with her collaborators Dennis Shasha (NYU Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences) and Yizhou Sun (Computer Science, UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering & Applied Science). The project is entitled “Querying and Constructing the SSWL database: Tools for Linguistic Theory” and the money will go towards sustaining and developing the extremely useful online database Syntactic Structures of the World’s Languages (SSWL).
