The UCLA Linguistics Department’s normal business hours are M-F 8am-12pm, 1-5pm. Office schedule and availability may change based on UCLA guidance and protocol. Please refer to the UCLA COVID-19 protocols (email@example.com) when coming to campus and visiting the Department. Everyone is required to wear masks (surgical, N-95, or K-95) indoors, strongly encouraged to wear masks outdoors, and monitor symptoms (UCLA affiliates must complete the daily symptom survey).
My research centers on language change, phonology, and language contact, and is reported in my monographs “Consonant Structure and Prevocalization” (John Benjamins, 2010), “The Lingua Franca: Contact-Induced Language Change in the Mediterranean” (Cambridge University Press, 2021), and other publications.
