The UCLA Linguistics Department will be closed for Thanksgiving break starting 2 PM Wednesday, November 24. We will re-open for normal business operations (M-F 8am-12pm, 1pm-5pm) effective November 29. Please refer to the UCLA COVID-19 protocols (firstname.lastname@example.org) when coming to campus and visiting the Department. Everyone is required to wear masks indoors, strongly encouraged to wear masks outdoors, and monitor symptoms (UCLA affiliates must complete the daily symptom survey).
Giuseppina Silvestri’s research interests include comparative and historical Indo-European and Romance linguistics, and especially (morpho-)syntactic variation in Italo-Romance and Greek varieties, as well as topics in theoretical syntax (through the parametric approach) and glotto-genetics, and issues ascribable to the phonology-syntax interface (RF, propagation, metaphony) and the syntax-semantics interface (syntactic reduplication and free relatives).
