Submitting the MA Paper
The process to submit the final MA paper and have the MA committee members sign is done online. Once the final version of the MA paper is ready, the student will need to initiate the result form in DocuSign:
- If possible, please convert the MA paper to a PDF.
- Initiate the DocuSign.
- The student must fill in their:
- Full name
- Email address
- UID
- MA paper title
- In addition, the student must also enter the names and email addresses of all MA committee members.
- If a student has Co-Chairs, the faculty member listed in the “Chair/Co-Chair Name” field will be responsible for filling in the result of the MA paper.
- If the committee does not have Co-Chairs, only fill in the name and email address of the “Chair/Co-Chair Name”, “Member 1 Name ” and “Member 2 Name ” fields (and “Member 3 Name” field if the committee consists of 4 members total).
- Click on the “Next” button.
- Review the information entered then click on the “Next” button.
- Upload the final MA paper (button is on the result form itself, to the right of the student’s UID).
- The MA paper will appear after the result form. Please review the document to make sure it’s the right version.
- Click the “Finish” button.
- The DocuSign will then be routed to the MA Committee Chair/Co-Chairs first.
- After the MA Chair/Co-Chairs signs, the form will be automatically routed to the rest of the committee for their signature.
- After everyone signs, the Graduate SAO will send a copy of the completed form to the student.
Please direct any questions or issues with the DocuSign to the Graduate SAO.
Please note:
- If the student selected the Thesis Plan (which requires filing the MA paper with UCLA), the student must also formally file their thesis online and all committee members must certify online by the quarterly filing deadline in order for the MA to be conferred. The DocuSign does not count as filing the thesis or count as the thesis certification.
- If the student selected the Capstone Plan, Writing Requirement (which does not require filing the MA paper with UCLA), no additional paperwork is needed.
