Margit will start work as a postdoctoral research associate on a five year project “The lexical semantics of lexical categories” (PI, Andrew Koontz-Garboden), funded by the European Research Council Consolidator Project. The goal is to elucidate through the study of property concept lexemes (see Dixon 1982, Thompson 1989) and constructions in which they appear, the meaning of nounhood, verbhood, and adjectivehood. The project will do this through broad typological study and detailed semantic and morphosyntactic fieldwork on individual languages.
