Three temporary faculty members of the department are moving on to tenure-track jobs at other universities. Suzy Ahn, who has been our phonetics/phonology lecturer since January 2019, will be an Assistant Professor in the Linguistics Department of the University of Ottawa.
Shu-hao Shih, who has been our phonology adjunct since summer 2018, will be an Assistant Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the National Taiwan University, Taipei. Shu-hao and Suzy will be leaving Los Angeles at the end of this month.
Matt Faytak, research postdoc and phonetics lecturer since summer 2018, will become an Assistant Professor in the Linguistics Department of the University at Buffalo in summer 2021; however, he will continue at UCLA for the coming year. Congratulations to Suzy, Shu-hao and Matt, and best wishes to them in their new jobs!
