Four UCLA students win this year’s LSA Abstract Awards

Four UCLA graduate students have won first and third place in this year’s LSA Student Abstract Awards. First place went to Hiro Katsuda and Jeremy Steffman for their abstract on “The role of segment and pitch accent in Japanese spoken word recognition” and third place went to Maura O’Leary and Richard Stockwell for their abstract title “Skills-based grading: A novel approach to teaching formal semantics.” Congratulations to Hiro, Jeremy, Maura, and Richard!
