IPA presidents serve a 4-year term from one ICPhS meeting to the next. At the Melbourne meeting this month, Pat Keating ended her term by helping to open the Congress [photo 1] and by conducting the IPA’s business meeting, where she gave the outgoing president’s report and welcomed the incoming members of the Executive [photo 2]. She continues her service as a member of the IPA Council and of the Permanent Council to Organize International Congresses of Phonetic Science.
