The 51st Annual Meeting of the North East Linguistic Society (NELS) is this weekend, hosted by Université du Québec à Montréal. The program features several talks by UCLA linguists:

  • Travis Major and Alum Richard Stockwell: “Say”-ing without a Voice
  • Alum Laura Kalin (with Nicholas Rolle): Deconstructing subcategorization: Conditions on insertion vs. position
  • Alum Richard Stockwell and Dominique Sportiche (with Aya Meltzer-Asscher): There is reconstruction for Condition C in English questions
