UCLA Linguistics at SSILA

Published: January 13, 2021

UCLA linguistics was well represented at the 2021 Annual Meeting of the Society for the Study of Indigenous Languages of the Americas (SSILA), which was held virtually from January 7-10. Graduate students Madeleine Booth and Elizabeth Sola-Llonch, and Professor Harold Torrence gave a presentation titled “Free Relative Clauses in San Cristóbal Lachirioag Zapotec,” while three graduate students presented posters:

  • Elizabeth Sola-Llonch: “Counterfactuals in San Cristóbal Lachirioag Zapotec”
  • Minqi Liu: “Adverbial Clitics in San Cristóbal Lachirioag Zapotec”
  • Madeleine Booth: “Comparatives and Superlatives in San Cristóbal Lachirioag Zapotec”

Great work!
